SwimNote ("the App") is a personal training tool for swimmers. Your data stays on your device by default. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.
Data Collection
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
All of the following is stored on your device only, using Apple's Core Data (SQLite):
- Swimmer Profile: name, birthday, sex, training tier, skill level, preferred strokes, personal best times, CSS test history, training goals, limitations/health notes, optional profile photo
- Training Data: daily training notes, technique goals, weekly AI-generated training plans, training sessions, technique measurements (stroke count, lap time, glide time, etc.), timer sessions
- Health & Wellness: heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, ECG data from Apple Watch, fatigue assessment results (wellness scores, fatigue flags), sleep quality indicators
Data You Choose to Send to External Services
AI Training Plans: When you generate a weekly training plan, a summary of your profile and recent training history is sent to the LLM provider you configured in the App (DeepSeek by default). This includes:
- Profile summary (name, tier, preferred strokes, personal bests, goals, limitations)
- Recent training notes and technique goals
- Fatigue assessment summaries
The following is never sent to external services:
- Profile photo
- Raw HRV signal data
- ECG voltage data
- Timer session raw data
- Your API key
You can change or remove your LLM provider at any time in Settings > LLM Configuration. Without an LLM provider configured, AI plan generation is unavailable but all other features work normally.
